On March 9, 2014 Luke wake up early morning to be one of the runner and supporter of the fun run organized by Ayala Foundation for the benefit of the CENTEX students. He finished the run without any pressure, he totally just enjoy it while chatting with some people whom he met in the fun run.  This is a start of a Sunday that is well spent.

As a model and actor, Luke has a good influence with his followers in the social media and he sees this as a good platform to campaign the advocacies he feel strongly about. He volunteered to be part of the headshot clinic of the famous creative director and visual artist Niccolo Cosme (http://www.niccolo-cosme.com/). The headshot clinic has two advocacy campaigns focus on environmental and HIV-AIDS awareness. The environmental campaign is tagged as earth faces and for HIV-AIDS was branded as Save Sexy.

6tag_260414-093637 #SaveSexy is the hashtag of the campaign Red Whistle which focuses on the alarming rise of HIV     infection in the Philippines. The Red Whistle has three objectives: 1. raise awareness on the situation to encourage community action; 2. deliver safer sex messages designed to reach communities affected by the epidemic; and 3. help facilitate access or referral to HIV services, including HIV testing, treatment, and support services.

It aims to empower and inspire people to come together and help each other in this battle against HIV and AIDS. The hope is to reach our objectives through online and social media efforts, visual arts and rebranding through the red whistle. We hope to engage individuals and groups to HELP sound the alarm in their respective communities that HIV is here and that it must be stopped.

Currently, Red Whistle have produced a thousand red whistles which are being given out to individuals and organizations and at the same time getting their pledges and their commitments in our battle against HIV and AIDS. These whistles are becoming a trending item and are running out really fast.

The Red Whistle campaign as a collaborative platform for artists/individuals/groups to come together and create new visuals and mediums that can be used as awareness campaign materials and to hopefully collaborate with brands to come up with items that can be in line with our campaign.

Luke, talks about quality of life which everyone should experience as a human being. We all have been given a chance to live a productive and happy life. However, the decisions that we make also affects our very own quality of life. With this in mind, Luke never hesitated to lend his time to be part of the celebrity ambassador who advocates for availability of information in order to make right choices or decisions in life. This campaign is led by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). UNFPA works to promote the right of every woman, man and child to enjoy a life of health and equal opportunity. UNFPA supports countries using population data for policies and programmes to reduce poverty. UNFPA’s vision is of a world where every pregnancy is wanted, birth is sage, every young person is free of HIV and AIDS and every woman and girls is treated with dignity and respect.

This year’s World Population Day theme “Investing in Young People,” Project Headshots Clinic photographed celebrities and advocates to kick off the “selfie” campaign to encourage social media users to participate and express their support for the rights of adolescents and youth. In the Philippines, the campaign focused on three key issues of young people – adolescent sexual and reproductive health, universal access to basic education and youth unemployment. 6tag_110714-175816
